Dealing with Counterfeits Online

16 October 2020

The Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) combines the knowledge and expertise of its members through working groups to achieve specific goals. The Online Counterfeiting Working Group (OWG) is one of three active working groups and focuses on discussing online enforcement and the activities which affects the interests of ACG members.

In the last OWG meeting it was discussed that ACG members would benefit from a training course on how to deal with counterfeits online. The training was to be an expansion to the ACG Guide to Brand Protection that members can utilise on the ACG website.

‘Dealing with Counterfeits Online’ training for full ACG members reached 31 brands across all sectors who benefited from other ACG brand members sharing their expertise on how to best deal with counterfeit products being sold online.

Those who attended got to collaboratively join in a two-hour session that covered:

  •          Marketplaces
  •          Fake Websites, Web Shops and Domain Name Infringements
  •          Mobile Application Markets (Mobile Apps)
  •          Social Media
  •          Online Enforcement

A huge thank you to those who took the time to participate, share their own knowledge and to the speakers for coming together to help deliver the training.
